Congratulations to one of our newest RWU Race Team Runners – Kate Olson! She recently ran the Antelope Canyon 50-miler and came out on top as 1st Female with a time of 8:37 & 7th Overall. Here’s her summary of the race:
I ran Antelope Canyon 50-miler this weekend and was 1st lady! 7th overall! Time of 8:37.It was a hard race! The terrain was mostly loose sand and slick rock, which was tough! I had to really dig deep the first 25 miles and cheer myself on a ton (people probably though I was crazy to be saying, “Let’s go O! You got this!” but it totally got me through). Going through Antelope Canyon slot canyons and running by Horseshoe Bend thing first half was mind-blowing, despite how hard it all was.Everyone told me I was looking strong during the back half and I felt it! I think it took a while to find my first wind – I’m glad I endured through the low points. I found more people to chat with during this section, which is always nice. And 10 of the last 11.5 miles were hard packed trail though and I took off once I hit that portion! I came in strong at the end, it was just an incredible experience.
