Adrian Broca
Adrian Broca is living a very compelling story. His quest is to become one of the world's best blind marathoners. Adrian is a 31-year-old immigrant from Mexico who carries a 3.7 GPA at Cal State Los Angeles in Business and Finance. He is also one of only two blind American runners who have broken the 3- hour marathon mark in the past year. He will qualify for the World Paralympics/USOC Games, once he runs a two-hour and fifty-six minute race, which is four minutes off his best time.
Adrian Broca is legally blind. And while a blind runner in a marathon may seem improbable, he loves nothing more than defying stereotypes."It's so much fun to be able to compete against other athletes who don't have any disabilities or excuses," he said. "I've never used my visual impairment as an excuse, but more of a challenge."
