Team Run With Us shines at the Pasadena Marathon

 

May 15, 2011: Team RWU takes 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place at the Pasadena Half Marathon while the woman division is won by Rosario Castañeda, 1st and Claudia Garcia, 2nd from RWU. The 10K race 1st place was for Mike Thatcher from Glendale and Dora Perez in the women division. At the Full marathon, RWU was represented by Ricardo Ramirez from Sun Valley, CA who came in 2nd place behind Justin Johnson from Seattle Washington.

10K:

1st place -Mike Thatcher, 34, 33:16 min

10K women:

1st place -Dora Perez, 40:15 min

Half Marathon:

1st place -Mark Batres, 26, 1:12:55 hr

2nd place -Bartolome Sequin, 25, 1:13:21 hr

3rd place -Ray Castillo, 28, 1:15:34 hr

Half Marathon, Women:

1st -Rosario Castañeda, 1:27:22 hr

2nd -Claudia Garcia, 1:28:43 hr

Marathon:

2nd -Ricardo Ramirez, 39, 2nd place with 2:43:13 hr

 

Great weekend for RWU Ultra team at Leona Divide & Santa Barbara

 

April 30th, 2011. Jorge Pacheco, 43, takes 2nd place at the Leona Divide 50 in 6:35 hr to behind James Bonnet, 24, from Arizona who finished in 6:27 hr/

Adalberto Flaco Mendoza, 58, wins 1st place for Team Run With Us at the Santa Barbara Endurance 100K with 11:52 hr. Congratulations Flaco!

Carlos Diaz,56, takes 4th place in the 50K Race of Leona Divide 50-59 division in 6:00 hr. First place was for Ricardo Ramirez,39 from Sun Valley with 4:15 hr.

Evgeniy Sklyanskiy takes 1st place for Team Run With Us at the Santa Barbara Endurance 25K last Saturday April 30, 2011.

Big Congratulations to Ultra members for completing LOL 100

 

Big Cheers to all our runners last weekend. Wilson, Jack, Tin and Gerry survived cold winds at Labor of Love 100. Gerry sprinted the last 50 yds for his first 100 mile buckle. Likewise, an awesome finish by Rebecca for her first 50 miler at American River 50M. Sada also did well at AR50 along w HwaJa Andrade, Johnny Hsin, and Thomas Cassidy (first 50mile finish).

Mark Batres takes 16th at the Los Angeles Marathon 2011

 

Elite Run With Us runner, Mark Batres takes 16th place at the Los Angeles Marathon 2011, finishing in 2:25:48. First place was for Ethiopians Mark Geneti with 2:06:35 and Buzunesh Deba with 2:26:34.

RWU elite Jacques Sallberg aids Team USA win gold at the NACAC

 

Run With Us elite runner Jacques Sallberg aids Team USA win gold at the NACAC Cross-Country Championships in Trinidad and Tobago. Sallberg, a Muir High in Pasadena, CA and Cal State Los Angeles graduate who has enjoyed a fine career as a steeplechaser in track, finished seventh individually to help the American team win the gold medal in the Men's Senior Division race, with Canada taking silver. Sallberg was timed in 24:02 for the 8-kilometer (5-mile) layout at Queen's Park Savannah in Trinidad.

 

 

2011 USA Cross Country Championship

Congratulations to our runners who participated in the 2011 USA Cross Country Championship: Jacques Sallberg finished 1st from California in 36:53 (4:54 pace) and 15th overall. Mark Batres finished 36th in 38:44 (5:09 pace). Danny Martinez was 9th in the Masters in 27:28 (5:27 pace)
