When & where did you go to high school? College? What did you study?
I went to La Canada High School, and am now a student at the University of Southern California studying Quantitative Biology and Business Administration.

Did you run in high school and/or college?
I started running as a hobby in high school, and haven't looked back since!

When & how & why did you get in to the sport of running?
When the pandemic started, there was a pause in our baseball season and we were told by our coaches to stay fit since we wouldn't know when we'd be back. I had a lot of extra energy, so I bought my first pair of shoes at RWU and began jogging the streets and trails around my area that I had previously never paid much attention to. I loved it, and began embracing all the challenges of it along the way.

Do you have a favorite moment that stands out in your running career?When I was a couple hundred meters out from the finish line of my first triathlon, I had an extreme hamstring cramp. I couldn't move my leg, but I couldn't stop smiling or laughing because of how comical it was being so close to the finish, and also because of how excited I was to finally cross the finish line after a long training journey. 

Any personal records we should know about?
I completed my last hilly 100K in 17:25:23. It wasn't my goal time, but it was such a chaotic training block that I was extremely grateful to be able to cross the finish line.

In competition, what is or was your favorite distance?
I really love the 70.3 triathlon distance, as every segment is definitely challenging but once you're done, you have the rest of the day to celebrate and eat lots of food!

Road, Track, Trails, Treadmill, Couch?
Trails without a doubt. But I can't deny, my couch is pretty comfortable too.

What do you enjoy most about the sport or your own running?
Running allows me to explore different places at a different pace that I wouldn't have otherwise gone to. Whether I'm traveling or just at home, I can plan a route to a neighborhood I've never been to or a trail I've never covered, and explore it at a relaxed pace.

Since working at Run With Us, what has been your favorite aspect of the job?I enjoy meeting with people and talking about shared interests, and working here is a default for both! Just as I was once helped to get my first pair of shoes that began a significant part of my life, I hope I can do the same for others.

What has been your favorite running shoe of all-time? What is your favorite shoe currently?
My favorite running shoes of all time were my Saucony Endorphin Speed 2's, which I logged hundreds of miles on (probably too many). They carried me through my first year of running in college and my first race. I enjoyed them so much I decided to get the Endorphin Speed 5's, which are my current favorite shoes.

Do you have a favorite meal of all-time?
It's really hard to beat a good spaghetti bolognese.

Outside of Run With Us & Running, do you have any other interests?
I love reptiles and currently have 3 Leopard Geckos.
