Monday Fun Run

Join us on Monday, April 22nd as we host @likethewindmag while on their U.S tour!

Like the Wind is a UK-based running literary magazine, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary 🥳. We’re thrilled to invite you to meet the creative voices behind this magazine @simonbfreeman and Julie Freeman. In the spirit of telling runners’ real stories and experiences, we’ll have a discussion with some of the most inspiring runners on their unique journeys: navigating depression and cancer, career transition, organizing a community race, curating running resources, advocating for others, making running more accessible, and more. The one and only @sandychannel will be moderating an amazing panel of athletes including @born2run87 @onthejumbotron @larunningconnoisseur @ingridwalt @liddie.g and Julie Freeman.

The panel discussion will happen after our Monday Fun Run 4 miler, which starts at 6pm. There’ll be pizza 🍕 and drinks 🍺. Can’t wait to see you there!

Griffith Park Trail Run

Join us as we head to Griffith Park for a fun time on the trails with our friends from Altra!

Our longer route will head to the Hollywood Sign, while our shorter route will still have some amazing views along the way especially getting to the iconic helipad area.

The shorter distance will be 6 miles and the longer route is 9.

National Beer Day 5k Beer Crawl | Join us on Sunday, April 7th as we celebrate National Beer Day with a 5k Beer Crawl around Pasadena.

We welcome runners who are new to trail running or those who just want to run with fellow trail enthusiasts. These trail runs are sponsored by Saucony.

We have two trail running groups along with a hiking group that meet at 7:00am.

One trail running group goes for about 6-8 miles depending on the trail, and the second trial running group goes double digits. The hiking/walking group lasts for about 3 hours.

Today we will be meeting at Chaney Trail.

Here are some key things to remember before you join us for a Sunday Trail Run:

 Make sure to bring enough water for the distance you plan to cover. It’s always better to have a little extra than not enough 

 Trail running shoes help for extra traction and for protection against those accidental foot nubs against rocks, BUT road shoes are ok since this is not a very slippery trail.

 Fuel. Remember to bring some sort of fuel with you whether liquid or something like yummy chews from Skratch Labs or Clif Bar. We carry both in-store along with a TON of other options.

 Use an app like Strava to get to know the route – join Club Run With Us on Strava where we have all the trails saved on our maps. While our runs are led by members of our RWU Race Team and we’re here to help you learn about trail running, it’s always helpful to have a general idea of the route. IRL Empowering All Abilities Run/Walk

Join us as we run, walk, and roll to support the Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) for its 3rd annual Empowering All Abilities Run/Walk. The 2024 walk will be a special event to celebrate IRL’s 50 years of service, empowering individuals of all abilities to take charge of their learning and lives to be competent, caring, and contributing members of society. 

Build your team and come out to support Almansor and Westmoreland Academies, Community Outreach, Clinical Services, Early Childhood Education, and our Adult Services programs. Your participation will directly support the vital work IRL does in our community every day. 

The walk starts on the historic Arroyo Seco Trail located by the South Pasadena Baseball Fields and is flat with a gradual incline.

  • Water stations will be provided at various places throughout the trail.

  • Participants who need assistance, walkers, and beginners should start from the back.

  • This event is chipped timed for individual's race accuracy.

  • Same-day registration will be in person at the event site.

  • The race will conclude with family-friendly activities, food trucks, and a music festival to celebrate IRL’s 50th Anniversary.
