What year did you begin working at Run With Us?

July, 2023.

When & where did you go to high school? College? What did you study?

Maranatha H.S. and Azusa Pacific University with a B.A. in History

Did you run in high school and/or college?

I ran in High School and College and continuously since.

When & how & why did you get in to the sport of running?

I started running in middle school at St. Ritas when I beat the fastest kid in school and was recruited on the track team. High school was where I found the joy of running and satisfaction of being part of a team and fell in love with the community and the therapy running provides.

Do you have a favorite moment that stands out in your running career?

There are a couple of moments I treasure: Winning the California State cross-country championship in high school. Winning the Jackie Joyner-Kersee 1500m in college under the lights at UCLA, and recently winning my 5th Mt. Wilson trail race title.

Any personal records we should know about?

1500m:  3:54

5K: 15:42

8k: 24:48

5-time Mt. Wilson trail winner

NAIA Cross county All-American

Top 10 finish at the Xterra National Trail Championships

In competition, what is or was your favorite distance?

I preferred the Mile/1500m

Road, Track, Trails, Treadmill, Couch?

I ran all of it. There is a time, place and purpose for each. I enjoy them all for different reasons.

What do you enjoy most about the sport or your own running?

Running has been an escape and coping mechanism for me in so many ways. It is a safe place to call home. It grounds me. The discomfort of it simplifies my busy mind. Racing makes me feel alive. It makes me tired beyond comprehension… but it also makes me free.

Since working at Run With Us, what has been your favorite aspect of the job?

The community are people I have grown up around since the start of my running career. It’s nice to give back to the sport and to people in the same way, with something that is as much a part of me as much as my legs and feet. Also to share my experience with young and new runners.

What has been your favorite running shoe of all-time? What is your favorite shoe currently?

My favorite running shoe of all time has to be the Asics Kayano, its been a staple since I was a kid. Now I enjoy carbon shoes that make me feel fast. The Asics Metaspeed Sky is a great shoe!

Do you have a favorite meal of all-time?

I enjoy a Blackened Salmon with a fully loaded baked potato and some sauteed Garlic Spinach. Paired with a nice pinot grigio.

Outside of Run With Us & Running, do you have any other interests?

Outside of running I have a very large passion for filmmaking, acting and screenwriting. I am currently adapting a New York Times best selling novel to the film medium and have been part of several independent films in either acting or writing categories.
